Film review- Dana Vargas
The perks of being a wallflower is a youth drama and romance film, released on September 21, 2012 in the United States, based on the homonymous novel published in 1999. The film is adapted and directed by Stephen Chbosky, author of the book.
This film is about a boy named Charlie (Logan Leman) a freshman, who is always alone because he is not a very sociable guy. The first day of class ends by befriending his literature teacher Mr. Anderson (Paul Rudd). Charlie becomes friends with two boys of the last grade, Patrick (Ezra Miller) and his stepsister Sam (Emma Watson). Days later they invite Charlie to a party where as a brownie with marijuana, Charlie tells Sam that his best and only friend had committed suicide. She tells him that his first kiss has to be from a person who loves him and she kisses him. Despite what Charlie feels for Sam, he starts dating Mary Elizabeth. At a party while playing truth or challenge Patrick told Charlie to kiss the prettiest girl in the room and what Mary Elizabeth did not expect was to kiss Sam, to do this Mary Elizabeth ran away and Sam went after At that moment, the friendship they had was broken and Charlie was back with the beginning. One day Patrick was fighting with a boy and Charlie, seeing what was happening, got up and helped Patrick to protect himself.
I liked the movie a lot and I would recommend it because it talks about things that really happen, many young people have to go through that and it is very difficult but sooner or later you find people who have the same interests and with whom you can talk.
