Opinion essay: “Charity work should not be needed today, people should look after themselves” Nowdays, many people think that charity work shouldn’t be needed today, because people should look after themselves, but the question we need to answer is if this is fair or not for people who live in a state of poverty. I strongly disagree with people who has this opinion. People whose pockets are empty still are persons with feelings as everyone else does, and they also got basic needs like eating, or having a place to live . I think that the poor ones need help from anyone who has enough resources. Furthermore, for example, imagine that someday you end up living at the street, without money, food and home. Would not you like to be helped? Living in that situation makes people so unhealthy and more propense to get ill. It’s clear that charities must still working for the people in need in order to help them and make them happier persons. In conclusion, I think that people should look for the people whose lives are hard and try to make them better.

"Charity work should not be needed today, people should look after themselves".

Nowadays, our society and world are full of problems that need a solution. For this reason, exist many NGOs to help people to resolve these problems or to fight against them. The question is that charity work should not be needed because we should look after ourselves.

Firstly, I believe that NGOs are essentially necessary. It is true that there are people with problems which were caused by themselves and have to take responsibility for it. However, there are places where their situation is horrible and the population do not have any fault of it. For example, in poor countries like Africa, there are people who do not have anything to eat or are in continuous wars. In those countries whose resources are null, charity work helps a lot to change this situation by providing necessary things, like food, water, houses, clothes, medicines, education and psychological support.

Secondly, charity work is a way to feel better with oneself. I believe that helping other people who are in bad situation, you are contributing in some way to make the world a little better place. This idea makes you feel better with yourself. Furthermore, I think that a person who does charity work is a good example to follow for the rest. For instance, I believe that if a child saw that you are helping other people, making them happier and you are happy doing it, they will want to do it too. On account of it, not only is it a way to look after ourselves but is it also a way to look after others.

In conclusion, I think that philanthropy is necessary to help those people who do not have the necessary mediums to survive or to live in good conditions. In addition, it makes us think that we are doing something good to change the things that we found unfair and to make than others, especially children, to take this as an example to follow.

I think that what makes help necessary is just that, that we only care about our environment and not much else. People who ignore these problems are also problems. It's obvious that help is necessary and that they have come very far. The real problem is the opposite, there is too much class difference and a lot of selfishness of those who have a lot of money that could end the hunger of entire towns. Furthermore, resources whose price is not cheap abound where it is least needed. In my opinion another of the problems of poverty is how it's used to manipulate or even to earn money.
